Days 7-21

OMG. See, this is how fast these things go by! Its been two weeks since my last blog post!!!

David has been doing GREAT!!! He has been running twice a week at work, and once on the weekends with me. We are also still doing our 25 minute workouts, though I have to admit we are not getting 5 x 25 minute workouts done in a week in addition to the running. But 5 TOTAL workouts a week? DONE and DONE!

David is also still drinking his meal replacement shake every morning and he says that its helping with his cravings. I have noticed that he is not eating so much candy crap at night.

So here are the action shots!

MONDAY, JULY 22

So I did my barbell DVD the prior day, and my abs were TOAST. I made it 1.2 miles ,and after a rest, had to limp/grump 1.2 miles back to the car.


David on the other hand, did his usual.

Days 3-6



Yikes! Has it been 6 days already? Here's what's been happening.


  • WEDNESDAY
David and his co-worker/bitching partner Priyank went running again. I don't think they look sweaty enough. Do you?

  • THURSDAY
The Challenge Pack came in the mail! What's a Challenge Pack you ask? Well its the box that contains the DVD workouts and the 1-month supply of Shakeology. I had been borrowing the workout DVD's, but now we were fully equipped.

So what did we do? T-25 Cardio. David called this his "day off" cause he didn't go running too. That's the spirit David!
I, on the otherhand, ran 3.5 miles pushing Claire in the stroller, mowed the front yard, AND did T-25 Cardio. Guess it really was David's day off.

 Oh, and Claire joined us for T-25 and actually completed the 25 minute workout. Great job Claire!
C: "High-five Daddy. Now lets go play princesses!"















  •  FRIDAY
So apparently Friday was David's day off too, cause his boss took him to Z'Tejas for lunch an I didn't see any workout photos in my inbox.

What did I do? Only cleaned the house for 3 hours and THEN did laundry. But that doesn't count, right?!


  • SATURDAY
And here we are on Saturday. My mom was visiting so she watched Claire while David and I went and ran 4 miles.
K: "4 miles ain't that bad." D: "I think I just swallowed my tongue."

















Later we took Claire to the pool. I took a pic of David.

Day 2: David is Happy?!

So on Day 2, I woke up to something so weird, David was in a good mood. I am not joking. He actually had already drank his Shakeology, and he was buzzing around the house getting things done. Apparently he had checked the sizes of all the air filters in the house, added that info to a Google Doc, and copied me on it. He said, "Maybe its the exercise." And I was like, "well duh!"

When he got home we did the T-25 Lower Focus workout together.

David: Oh shit, make it stop!
That Shaun T. is always good for a few laughs. I love it when he tells you to grab your ankles, cause at that moment, you really feel liked you are getting, ahem.... you know.

I thought the Lower Focus video was easier than the Ab Focus. I am less sore today too. I was following the modifier, or as David likes to call her, "the fat one." That's our joke because everyone on the video is like 2% body fat but I suppose this girl doing the easier version of the exercise is like 2.25% body fat. Geez David, if she's fat, then what am I?

Anywho, I really loved this workout and can see where it will totally benefit my running. (hence, "Lower Focus") There are a bunch of lunges and squats, and standing on your tip-toes. And by the end of the 25 minutes, we were both dripping sweat. THE BONUS: I was totally sedated when I got into the bath with Claire, which made for an unusually relaxing time.

DAY 1. Running at Work + T-25 at Home

So today David surprised me with the news that he was going to run at work on his lunch break. It turns out he has recruited his next-cubicle-over/bitching-partner, Priyank, to run with him. I asked him to send me proof of the workout, and he did. I don't know about Priyank though. Maybe he just stood next to David and distracted him with bitching the whole time. Whatever works.

So next up was Focus T-25. This workout is by "Insanity" creator Shaun T. Its a full-body workout in 25 minutes. Did we "get it done?" Judge for yourself with these before and after pics.

The Challenge

David has agreed to take the Beachbody Challenge. Starting July 15, David is going to commit to 3 simple steps:

1. Exercise 30 minutes, 5 days a week
2. Replace 1 meal everyday with Shakeology
3. Eat/Snack clean the rest of the day
